There are many types of glass we can use for your storefront. Many of the common types of glass have features that make it a great choice for any type of business. If you are considering updating your storefront with a new design, then there are many types of glass you can choose from. Clear glass is the most commonly used option for the storefront of any type of business, which allows anyone to see what is inside the building or business.

Tinted Glass
There are many different grades, shades, colours, and thicknesses of available window films built to offer solutions to a variety of challenges. Window films are a retrofit upgrade for existing glass that can be used to address problems inherent to glazing, including:

- Heat and glare reduction
- Thermal insulation
- UV filtration
- Safety and security
- Privacy
- Decoration, Signage and branding
- Protection from graffiti

Window films are an extremely cost-effective method to reduce heating and cooling costs in existing buildings by reducing the amount of heat transfer through glazing.

Security Glass
This type of glass is becoming more popular for storefronts because of its ability to resist shattering. If the glass does break, then an external film or an internal laminate holds the window together.

Toughened glass
Toughened glass is processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering, by design, creates balanced internal stresses which causes the glass sheet, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks of similar size and shape instead of splintering into random, jagged shards.

Laminated glass
Laminated glass is layers of glass and plastic. When laminated glass is broken, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass, which crumble into small pieces. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its toughening prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.

Tempered Glass
Glass that is tempered is another type of safety design used for a storefront. This glass is treated with a chemical or thermal application to give it increased strength. The result is glass that breaks into chunks instead of sharp pieces.
